新版blogger的种子如何控制输出条目（解决feedburner种子源超过512k问题）

forcode最近将奇想录的主站挪来挪去，不厌其烦，种子也跟着改来改去，给读者造成了很大的不方便，实在抱歉。其中屡次遇到的一个问题就是feedburner显示种子超过了512k（ Your feed filesize is larger than 512K. ），feedburner无法烧录，原因为blogger新版输出的种子条目数没有控制，解决的方法如下：
在blogger输出的种子URL地址的结尾处加入这样一个代码来控制输出的种子条数：
?max-results=3
比如，奇想录的种子是：
http://inblogs.net/forcode/feeds/posts/default
只要改为：
http://inblogs.net/forcode/feeds/posts/default?max-results=3
这样种子就只输出三条最新的文章，体积大为缩小。
forcode的feedsky展示广告原来是先用feedsky烧录加入展示广告，再用feedburner烧录，这样所有feedburner读者都能够看到含有feedsky展示广告的内容，但是由于种子体积过大，feedsky本身也没有控制烧录后的种子的条目数的功能，所以feedburner无法接受feedsky地址，每天的feedsky收入下降了很多，今天改进之后，又可以增加很多倍的展示广告收入了。

f you are using New Blogger, the old technique for controlling the feed size by managing the number of posts on a page no longer applies. Instead, you need to add a parameter to the address for your Original Feed — the one that FeedBurner checks for updates in order to keep your FeedBurner feed current — that tells Blogger to shorten it to a specific number of posts. Here's how to do it:

1. Sign in to your FeedBurner account.

2. Click the title of your FeedBurner feed on the My Feeds page.

3. On the feed management page that appears, click the Edit Feed Details… link just below your feed's title.

4. In the Original Feed Address field, change the address listed there from an example like the following:

http://myblogname.blogspot.com/atom.xml OR http://myblogname.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default

to the following format:

http://myblogname.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?max-results=3

5. Click Save Feed Details. Your changes are immediately applied and FeedBurner re-burns the newly shortened (or lengthened) feed.

max-results sets the number of posts you want to have appear in your FeedBurner feed. Any integer value between 1 and 500 is permitted.

Podcasters: Don't ever want an episode to drop off of your feed? Set this value to 500. (What happens on episode 501? Pandemonium!)

Bloggers: Write lengthy posts and come up against FeedBurner's limit to total feed size ? You will want to set max-results to a small number in order to keep their feed file size under control. You may need to experiment with the max-results setting to get the ideal feed size. How to tell the filesize of your feed? Enter its address into www.web-sniffer.net and look at the report it returns; there should be a value in kilobytes for the size of your feed in an "uncompressed" format.

FeedBurner has a size limit on the incoming feed. We do not process source feeds that are larger than 512K. Frankly, there's no good reason for a feed to be quite this large, even if it contains your full content. Your original feed should only contain a relatively brief snapshot that covers your latest content.

If you're a Blogger user, there is an easy way to control the size of your feed: change the number of posts, or number of days' worth of posts, displayed on your blog's home page. This setting controls both your home page's posting count and your feed's item count, so reducing it is the best way to trim an oversize feed.

To change the Posts Per Page setting in Blogger, follow these steps:

1: Sign in to your Blogger account and go to your Dashboard.

2: Click the Settings tab, then the Formatting section.

3: Select a new numerical value and choose whether this should be the number of "days" or "posts" that will be displayed on your blog's home page.

4: Click [Save Settings].

5: Republish your blog to make this change take effect.

6: View your source feed. Your source feed's URL is available from Settings > Site Feed in the Dashboard.

7: Your browser (Firefox and Internet Explorer, for example) may have tools to tell you how large this feed file is. Try right-clicking on the feed page and choose "Site Info" or "Properties." If no similar commands exist, you can save the feed to your computer's hard drive and then use your computer's file system to report its size.

8: Repeat steps 1-7, reducing the number of posts or days of posts shown until the file size is below 512K.
